Jonathan Maag

The Tenor Saxophonist, well-known in Germany and Switzerland for his powerful Sound and energetic, individualistic Improvisations, studied Saxophone with Andy Scherrer and Composition with Django Bates in Bern (CH).

His work earned him several prices in Jazz and Improvised Music, such as the „Biberacher Jazzpreis 2010“, the Final Attendance of the „Yamaha Saxcontest 2007“, the participation in the renowned „Bujazzo“ (German Federal Jazzorchestra) or the renowned „ZKB Jazzpreis 2013“.

Born 1986, Maag has recorded 10 CDs as Leader, Co-Leader, Sideman and featured artist.

He had the possibility to tour, play and give Masterclasses in Japan, Scotland, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Estonia, and Austria.
